Another Update on Our Sweet Pea...

Welcome home to the Okrainski family, the Javier family who just brought home their sweet babies from Ethiopia. Please pray for their health as many of them are sick. Thank you so much Joy for taking pictures of my sweet pea while you were in Ethiopia. I opened the 3 pictures and was shocked. Our sweet pea likes to eat! She is getting chunky. It is so cute! Well we know they are feeding her.:}

We also have three families in Ethiopia now from our agency picking up their kids. How exciting for so many kids to get a forever family! Please pray for their safe travel.

We just spent a weekend with family for Thanksgiving and let me tell you, I have a lot to be thankful for. Our court date is approaching and I pray everyday that our sweet pea is healthy and safe while away from us.

That's all for now folks, I am so tired from driving to and back from KC. I'm going to bed.

Video Crazy!

Ok, so I have gone a little bit video crazy the past few days. I uploaded all the videos from the last six months on our camcorder and wanted to do something with them. My step-son Rickey and his wife Jessica and their daighter Abby came to visit during the summer. They are so much fun to hang out with. We also got a great visit from my step-daughter Kari and her husband Matt but I forgot to get it on video, sorry guys.

We have two dogs, Lexi and Leah. They are the cutest little yorkies. They are litter mates (sisters) and Leah is the larger of the two. Leah is only 7pds and Lexi is 5pds. Leah loves to play fetch and she will get in the pool if she has to to get the ball as you will see in the video.

When Rickey and Jess come we like to play Texas Hold'em. The other thing they like to do it to play the video game, Rock Band. For those of you who don't know, Rock band is a Playstation 3 game. Rickey plays the guitar and Jess plays the drums and sometimes Abby is the singer. I taped them. They are so good at it. I tried and it wasn't a pretty sight. They brought their game to our house and we hooked it up in the theatre. Check them out...

One of the things I am most greatful for this Thanksgiving is my Family. I love you all! Happy Thanksgiving! I love all you bloggers too!

Savannah in Action...

Savannah's party...

Savannah's birthday party seemed to be a success last Friday. She had a joint party with her best friend Sydney. They wanted to have a pool party. They thought it would be cool if they had one in the middle of winter. SO we heated the pool and hot tub, lit the outside fireplace & tiki torches and they had a ball. What I love about this is that they didn't trash my house. Rick and I were outside the whole time making sure the boys and girls didn't get to close to each other. Oh, did I not mention that the party was co-ed. Ughh....

I will let the video tell the rest of the story...

The next day, Savannah said it was the best party EVER, so I guess she had fun! We were exhausted!

Update on our sweet pea...

We got an update from the orphanage today on our sweetie and we also got two new pictures! I love when i get an update. It really makes my day! I have been worried about her health because a few of the families that have come back lately have found that some of the babies had chicken pox, scabies and/or pink eye.

They did not mention that she was sick in any way. Here is some of what the doctor put on her report:

Besides the previous history she drinks 180ml formula milk 3 times per day and she also started supplementary feeding. She sits with support, transfer objects from one hand to other, babbles and reaches for a familiar people.

She is now 12.58 pounds. They sent two photos. She is getting bigger and in one of the photos she looks like she is laughing and low and behold, she has dimples. The cutest dimples ever!

I can't wait to go get her. Getting closer!!!!!!!!! Whoo hoo!!!!!

13 Years ago today...

Thirteen years ago today, was one of the best days of my life. My sweet Savannah was born.

In the hospital room, I was in labor with my first born and while I'm trying to push her out says, "Wow, she has a REALLY BIG head!" WHYYYYY would he say that while I'm trying to push you out! Needless to say, your head was huge and she had the cutest triple chins too! What a day, the day my precious Savannah came into this world to be my daughter! From that day forward I have been blessed to have her in my life!

Savannah and her best friend Sydney (shown in many of the pictures)are having a combined 13th birthday party. They are having their first coed party at our house. It will be a pool party. (we heated the pool of course) The guest list id 50 people, and thats after they supposedly narrowed the list down for weeks! One thing is for sure, her dad will be at the party with his eyed peeled and a shotgun in the wings for any boy that gets to close to his baby girl! :)

Happy Birthday Savvy! I love you!!!!

God is Good!

I have been a little out of pocket the last week or maybe a month. Hmm...Anyway, I have been having computer problems and that is why the shortage of posts. I have also been EXTREMELY busy at work.

Our court date is getting closer and that is very exciting. We have a lot to do before baby comes home. I need to make a list and get organized because I feel a little overwhelmed.

Guess what though...God is Good!

Baby Shower and other ramblings....

So many people have passed court from our agency in the last week or so. Very exciting! I am on the upswing from my surgery. Thank you for all of your prayers!

Rick and I are trying to take care of any health issues we may have before the baby comes. We have been putting off things we didn't want to do for a while so it seems like one of us is always in the doctors office.

I am behind on my blogging but I wanted to tell you about the baby shower that Cindy and my mom threw for me. They live in Kansas City where we lived before we moved to TX almost 2 years ago. We drove down and came back the next day.

It was so fun. We made it more of a cocktail party. One of the advantages to adopting is that you can have a cocktail at the baby shower. I hate baby shower games, so we didn't play any. We invited men and women who were our closest friends in Kansas City.

The party was at Cindy's house (one of my best friends) She had decorated it so beautiful!!! My mom is a wonderful chef so she catered the event. Everything was so classy! Cindy had a special cake made.It was so gorgeous. Black and white with a feather topper. I love feathers! Here is a picture of it...and it was the best tasting cake ever!!!

We saw friends that we haven't seen since we moved. It was so nice. I can't think of anything that would have made the shower any better! Cindy and mom, I love ya!!!

I have been working on the baby's room but have made slow progress. I will try to work on it more in the coming weeks. Pictures to come of that....

small post

My computer somewhat fried over the last few days and I had to get a new one. I am way behind on my work due to not having my laptop and my new one is a MAC and even though it is very cool, I barely know how the programs work so I will keep it short and sweet.

I am having surgery tomorrow on my neck and back. It is an outpatient procedure so I will only be out off work for a few days. If I seem out of touch, now you know why. Congrats to the families that have been passing court and I am praying for the ones in court for the rest of this week.

I will talk with all of you soon!
