One more thing done...

I sent all the documents from my dossier to their originating state by fed ex for them to be certified. It went to 5 different states. After I get them all back, the whole packet will go to Washington. Another step closer.

We had to make copies of "family pictures" to send with the Dossier. I thought I would share the photo's with you that we sent. Ahh...we are so darn cute!

Oh mannn.......

Ugh...I just found out that I have more paperwork to do. I'm exhausted...I just spent four hours fixing, changing and adding to the document list after a long day at work. All the doc's have to be notorized and then certified in the state they came from and it hasn't been an easy process. Maybe this exhaustion is prepartion for having a baby. At least a baby is more fun than paperwork. Onward!

Oh my gosh...We are having a baby

We chose to adopt a baby girl under the age of 1. I don't have to go through labor pains but I do have weight gain but I don't think I will be able to blame it on the baby...darn.

Do you need a good laugh?

If you watched the videos below and are crying, you may need a good laugh. I'm sure there are hundreds of funny video's on youtube but this one is my all time favorite. My older brothers are only a year apart and they acted just like this...I was rolling on the floor laughing...

Inspirational Video

This doesn't have anything to do with our adoption but I wanted to share. I was holding a meeting at work last week and we were talking about mindset and about the "culture" of our company and leaving a legacy. I saw this video and thought wow...what a legacy that man left. Here is a little background around the video that i showed in our meeting:
Strongest Dad in the World [From Sports Illustrated, By Rick Reilly] Eighty-five times he's pushed his disabled son, Rick, 26.2 miles in marathons. Eight times he's not only pushed him 26.2 miles in a wheelchair but also towed him 2.4 miles in a dinghy while swimming and pedaled him 112 miles in a seat on the handlebars--all in the same day.

Here is another cool video: http://www.stservicemovie.com

We are truly blessed and this reminds me to not live my life in mediacracy.

Still Waiting...

Well, I have been waiting for our fingerprint results to come in the mail. Still not here...No matter how many times I check the mailbox, they still are not there. Bummer...Lord give me patience. This is the last document we need to have our dossier (paperwork). I'll keep you posted. I'm in Atlanta on a business trip so maybe that will help to keep my mind off of the paperwork but I doubt it.

Fingerprints are done!

I called TDPS in Austin and our fingerprints and criminal records check is done and they are putting the results in the mail tomorrow. YEAH!!!!!!!!!! This is the final step to our home study being done and that much closer to being done with our paperwork. I will be checking the mail constantly until we get them. Rick and I might find something out about each other that we never knew. Just kidding.

Names

We were recently asked, "What are you going to name your child?" This of course sparked a whole new conversation which has been kinda fun. Savannah has her opinions and Rick hasn't really had any suggestions yet. I personally like names that are not common or popular. Any ideas?

Awesome Friends and Family

I'm so amazed at the response and support from friends, family, and strangers who have to read the blog. I'm so blessed to have all of you. Don't be shy, feel free to hit the comment tab below each topic and let your voice be heard! You all are the best!
