A poem for our sweet baby girl!
We got a court date yesterday and I'm so happy! I am also so full of other emotions. It's hard to explain. It is a weird feeling to miss someone you have never met. I can honestly say that I miss our baby so much. My heart aches to see her, hold her, sing to her, play with her, and pray with her. (it will be nice to put her in girls clothes too) It used to be more of a feeling of excitement but it's more than that now, it's an ache in my heart. It does help to have a court date and know that their is a day to look forward to. In the meantime, I will pray for her every day.
I found this poem:
May you be safe while you're waiting...
May you be safe and sleep soundly through the night
May you be safe as you wake to the morning's light
May you feel our love from so far away,
May it comfort and protect you throughout each day.
We will pray for you my little one,
Until our time of waiting is done.
We will pray that the Lord keep you safe from harm,
Until the child of our hearts becomes the child in our arms.

Update!
When Rick saw the pictures of her he thought is was a different baby. They had her in boy clothes and a blue blanket. It looked like her to me because I was looking at her face. She has grown some more hair. It was so funny because it was slicked down to her head like a comb-over. lol. She is so cute!!! Don't worry honey, I will put you in girls clothes!
Court dates are becoming slimmer before the year ends so I keep praying. In the meantime, I will continue to stare at her pictures!
In the meantime, We head to Kansas City this week for a baby shower that my friend Cindy and my mom are putting on for us.
Come on court date!!!!!!

Teenagers, gotta love em' Part 3: TP'd AGAIN!!!
It was 1:30 in the morning on Friday night. The dogs were barking like crazy. I thought they heard the coyotes outside and were barking because of that but we should have listened. Five to ten minutes later the door bell rang and it scared the begeezes out of me. Rick and I sprung out of bed to see what was going on. Rick saw no one outside when he looked. As he opened the door, we saw it! OH MAN!!! Seriously? SERIOUSLY? Are we the only house that these kids have to TP?
I can't figure out if our teenager, Savannah, is really popular or not liked. Either way, I'm tired of cleaning up the mess. Ironically, Savannah wasn't even home so guess who got to clean up the mess? Well it sure wasn't the man with the sling on his arm. Oh man....Teanagers, gotta love em?

Ho humm.....
This is my patience level, especially when golfing...
Rejoice in your hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Romans 12:12 (RSV)
It is so hard to know that my baby girl is ready to have someone hold her and love on her and I can't because of legal reasons. Bummer!
Thank you Lord for Your will being done in Your timing! Amen.

Order in the Courts!
A lot of court dates have been issued for our adoption agency to other families but they are going in the order of the date that the family recieved the referral, which is fair. There is a little back up from the courts being closed for two months. From what I have read online, all of the court dates in October are gone now and they are now assigning Nov court dates and Dec travel dates. (Nov dates will go fast too)I want to have her before Christmas so badly!!! It is killing me. But I still stand in the Lord's timing for His will is the only way. I will let you all know when I find something out.
In other news, my agency requested a medical update on Ayana and new pictures so we should have those soon. I can't wait to see her sweet face. "Mommy and Daddy are coming soon sweet pea!"
Now I will go back to praying for a court date and try to get some work done! :)

I need help from all the mommas!
Ayana will be aprox 6 months (I hope we have her by then) She weighed 8 pounds at her 3 month check up. I know some of the basics but I'm not sure about others.
Do I need a swing?
What else do I need to entertain them at that age?
Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to give. I had no idea just how clueless I really am until I went to register.

Yes, I'm alive...Barely
As for me, About 5 days ago, my arms and hand started to go numb and my neck and shoulders were in extreme pain. I went to the doctor and I went in for an MRI today and I will see a specialist on Oct 8th. I may have to have surgery. Dang Yoga! J/K
So Rick and I are in sad shape. My friend wants to have a baby shower for me so we had to go to Babies R Us last Sunday to register and we were not feeling well. I kept shaking my hands and arms as if I could get the numb to go away and his arm is in a huge contraption and he is making noises of pain. If you can just visualize us walking through the store like that. I swear people must have thought we had Turrets Syndrome. (without the cussing) Pretty funny now that I think about it. Rick is still not smoking, I'm so proud of him! We are both trying to get healthy before the baby comes.
As for Savannah, the norm. Lots of school, cheer and gymnastics. She was out of school today for Fair day. Can you believe that get to take a day off of school to go to the State Fair?
I have also been busy doing a lot of fundraisers for Steve's family. Most of you remember me writing about my friend Steve that passed away. Our office is trying to raise money for his family and the medical bills. We did a huge rummage sale at the office parking lot. We told everyone to donate and the whole town was coming by the office to donate. It was so cool. We eventually could not see the floor at the office. It looked like a retail center. We had to price so much stuff. I now have a new respect for people who work at goodwill and have to go through other people's stuff. The good news is that we raised 5,000!!! I think that's amazing for a garage sale! We are so tired! Praise the Lord. Realtors from my company have pledged more money out of their commission checks and Realtors from other companies have even brought money. It brings me to tears at how the community has come together. Steve had that kind of impact of people. Now God is enjoying his amazing spirit.
Also, about a month ago, my assistant Lindsay moved in with us. She has become a good friend. She is in college and Lord knows I don't pay her enough and she needed a place to stay due to some personal circumstances that I won't talk about on this blog. She has been a life saver the last few weeks helping during the drama. Lindsay's mom, Geri bought Ayana some presents. So cute...
Another family that is adopting from Adoption Avenues, is sending a care package to Ethiopia and she is letting some of us put things in there for our babies. Thanks Leah! I sent our baby girl a drool proof photo album with a teether as the handle. I put our pictures inside so she would have us there with her and she is on the cover. I also sent two sleepers, a little toy and a blankie. I also included a lot of toothbrushes, toothpaste and diaper rash ointment for the orphanage. I hope she gets the stuff but if she doesn't no harm, the other babies are in need too. While I was gathering the stuff to get it ready for shipping, one of the agents walked into my office and saw all that ointment on my desk and they gave me the funniest look then said, having problems? Ehwww...NO, it's for the babies! Good grief. lol
I had to blurr out our sweet girls face due to rules at the agency.
There is a rumor that the courts opened a week early in Ethiopia! OMG! Even if they didn't, they were scheduled to open this week anyway. So I am praying that we get a court date soon!!! The attorney who our agency uses is the person that will request the court date. I hope he has the paperwork done. He has had time, I would think. ??? Anyway, of course, I will stalk my email until I get a date!
Well my hands are going numb again and I need to check on Rick. Good night. Please keep us in your prayers.
